is a topic that should be normalized and talked about more.
I remember getting my first period when I was in the 7th grade. At the time, I knew nothing about tampons and all the new technology we have today. I remember being so embarrassed and overly cautious being around guys on my period. Do you remember in middle school asking your girlfriends to stay behind you to (casually and not noticeably) look at the back of your dress or gym shorts to check for blood stains on the back of your clothes? Or how you would wait for someone to hit the loud bathroom dryer so you could hurry up to unwrap your pad, quietly pull the back paper off , and stick the pad to your underwear before the blow dryer went off because you just couldn’t fathom making any noise that would let anyone know you’re changing your pad in the bathroom stall. I die. Well atleast back then.
Reusable pads.
There’s so much out there regarding femine products. Diva cup, discs, high absorbing underwear, and the traditional pads or tampons. If I could be honest, I rarely wore pads. I found myself more self conscious when I wore them! The swish noise it makes when you walk, the odor, the bulkiness, just ICK!!! I really did swear off pads until High Oh. Whether you are a heavy or light flower, High Oh got you covered.

High Oh sent me their period starter kit. In the kit, I received 6 pads and 1 waterproof carry bag. The pads are eco friendly and plant based. No harsh chemicals and no chlorine to contribute to menstrual cramps.

Its soft material is made from charcoal and bamboo. Durability at its finest! These pads last up to 3 to 4 years! They have wings that can be secured by 2 snaps on the back to avoid leakage and stays in place. No loud paper peeling off from a pad, no loud unwrapping, or any disposables.

Washing Your Pads
It’s the same as washing your bloody underwear. When getting blood out of your undies, soak them in COLD water. I usually soak mines for 30 min and some times over night. I’ve done this since high school and it does the trick! Soak your pads in cold water then throw them in with the rest of your clothes.
